Xiaomi resmi meluncurkan smartphone terbaru mereka, Redmi 3S, yang merupakan peningkatan dari Redmi 3 yang dirilis beberapa bulan lalu. Xiaomi mengusung sejumlah pembaruan dan penambahan fitur di dalamnya. smartphone ini mengusung layar 5 inch dengan resolusi 720p yang berjalan dengan MIUI 7 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop dan dilengkapi dengan pemindai sidik jari di casing belakangnya.
Di bagian kamera belakang, resolusinya 13 megapixel dengan PDAF (phase detection autofocus), f2.0 aperture, HDR mode, 1080p video recording, and LED flash. untuk kamera depan sebesar 8 megapixel. Dalam hal konektivitas smartphone ini dilengkapi 4G/LTE, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, Glonass, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Micro-USB dan kapasitas batere sebesar 4.100 mAh sama dengan Redmi 3.
Jeroannya prosesor Snapdragon 430 octa core dengan GPU Andreno 505, sedikit lebih baik dibandingkan Snapdragon 616 di Redmi 3. Xiaomi menyediakan dua varian Redmi 3S, yakni versi RAM 2 GB dengan memori internal 16 GB, harganya USD 106 atau di kisaran Rp 1,4 juta. Sedangkan versi RAM 3 GB dengan memori internal 32 GB dibanderol USD 136.
